The Pentagon wants every major base ready to run 90 days with no resupply. How long would your house last?
Under its FORTRESS initiative, the Pentagon is working toward a standard where major U.S. bases keep power, water, fuel and communications running for at least 90 days on their own. Seventeen European governments now tell households to keep 3 to 10 days of supplies at home. Official U.S. advice says several days.
Here’s your test. Set up your household, stock it, and close the gate. Then live through it, one day at a time.
