Affiliate Disclaimer
Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you purchase a product through one of them, we earn a commission. The price you pay does not change. Here is exactly how it works.

The short version
OffGrid Power Hub participates in affiliate marketing programs. When you click certain product links on this site and complete a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. We only recommend products selected through extensive research, verified manufacturer specifications, and field reports from off-grid families. Editorial decisions are made independent of commission rates.
Why this disclaimer exists
The Federal Trade Commission requires websites to disclose any material connection between themselves and the products or services they recommend. This page provides that disclosure in plain language.
OffGrid Power Hub does not run display advertising. We do not sell installations. We do not accept sponsorship payments from manufacturers in exchange for favorable coverage. The primary revenue model for the site is affiliate commissions earned when readers purchase products through links on this site.
For more information on FTC disclosure requirements, see the FTC Endorsement Guides.
What this means for you
- —Same price. You pay exactly what you would pay going directly to the manufacturer or retailer. The commission comes from the merchant’s marketing budget.
- —Researched recommendations. Products featured on this site are selected through extensive research, verified manufacturer specifications, and field reports from off-grid families.
- —Honest reviews. Reviews include both strengths and weaknesses of every product covered. We have no inventory to move and no installer quota to hit.
- —Editorial independence. No manufacturer directs our content. If a cheaper option outperforms a more expensive one, we say so. If a product fails to meet our criteria, we recommend against it.
- —Your choice. You are never required to use our links. The guides and information on this site are free regardless of how you choose to purchase.
Affiliate programs we participate in
Amazon Associates
OffGrid Power Hub is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. We use Amazon for solar panels, batteries, inverters, charge controllers, tools, and other equipment.
My Patriot Supply
We participate in the My Patriot Supply affiliate program for emergency food storage, water filtration, and preparedness supplies.
ClickBank
We participate in the ClickBank affiliate program for select digital products that complement off-grid living, including DIY plans and educational guides. ClickBank is a digital marketplace that processes purchases on its own platform.
Other partnerships
From time to time, we may participate in additional affiliate programs with companies whose products meet our editorial criteria. All affiliate relationships are subject to the same standards described above.
How products are selected
Product recommendations on this site are based on the following selection criteria:
- —Verified specifications. Manufacturer documentation, technical data sheets, and certification standards are reviewed for every featured product.
- —Field reports. Real-world performance data from off-grid households informs recommendations. Products that fail in field conditions are removed from recommended lists.
- —Durability. Equipment expected to last 10 or more years with reasonable maintenance is preferred over short-life alternatives, even when the latter pay higher commissions.
- —Value. Recommendations consider price relative to performance and lifespan. The highest-priced option is not automatically the recommended option.
- —Manufacturer support. Warranty terms and customer service responsiveness are factored into selection decisions.
- —Direct off-grid experience. Many of the recommendations on this site reflect what we learned the hard way. The original 4kW 12V system a contractor installed in 2011 blew up every time we plugged in a water kettle. The 16kW 48V system we built ourselves afterward has run since then. The categories of equipment we recommend, the failure modes we warn against, and the priorities we emphasize come from both of those systems — what failed, and what worked.
Important: this site does not replace a qualified electrician
Solar power systems involve high-voltage DC, large battery banks, and grid-tied connections that can cause fire, electrocution, and equipment damage when installed or maintained incorrectly. Mistakes are not small. They can be fatal.
OffGrid Power Hub is an information site. We help you understand what equipment exists, how systems are sized, what tradeoffs matter, and what questions to ask. We do not inspect your property. We do not pull permits. We do not warrant the safety or suitability of any installation you perform based on information found here.
The information on this site exists to put you in a stronger position regardless of which path you take.
If you are doing the work yourself, the guides and checklists are a starting point — not a substitute for the manufacturer’s installation manual, your local electrical code, and the judgment to stop and call a professional when something is beyond your skill level.
If you are hiring someone else to do the work, the same information helps you ask the right questions. The contractor who undersizes your system, recommends batteries that melt the first time you boil water, or quotes you twenty thousand dollars for components worth eight thousand is the same contractor who counts on you not knowing the difference. This site is here to make sure you know the difference.
Either way: when something on this site says “consult a licensed electrician” or “verify against your local code,” that is not a liability cover. It is a real instruction. Treat it that way.
Frequently asked questions

No. The price is identical. The commission comes from the merchant’s marketing budget. Your purchase price does not change.
How do you choose which products to recommend?
Products are selected through extensive research, verified manufacturer specifications, and field reports from off-grid families. We never recommend a product solely because it pays a higher commission.
Are your reviews biased by commissions?
No. Reviews include both strengths and weaknesses of every product covered. If a product does not meet our criteria, we say so regardless of any affiliate relationship.
Do I have to use your affiliate links?
No. You can purchase directly from any retailer or manufacturer. The guides and recommendations are free regardless of how you buy.
How do affiliate commissions support this site?
